Why Corn?

With the package industry being at an all time high with no plan of slowing down any time soon, it made us wonder what’s happening with all the packing supplies once the shipment is complete.  To our surprise, we found out most of it is thrown away where it’s ultimately sent to a land fill. This wasn’t going to slide with us. Our environment is important and we have to do our part in sustainability.

So through extensive testing we found the best organic reusable material we could use for packaging is Corn. We found this to be the best for a few reasons.

First, it’s great at shock absorption (which is important for shipping). Second is that it’s at moisture regulation and insulation. Third is that it’s carbon neutral. Many companies that make “eco friendly” packaging claim how it’s safe for the environment because it’s biodegradable but they gloss over how much energy it took to produce.  Lastly, the fourth reason why we chose Hay/Straw is  because it’s biodegradable.
